Abstract

In this doctorate research, we intend to analyze the labor mobility lately transformations within the cities of Araçuaí and Minas Novas, localized in the Vale do Jequitinhonha, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, seeking to relate those changes to the contemporary character of the Brazilian modernization process. Also, we aim at investigating how these transformations were formed, on its particularities, by the specific capital territorializating process in which each city were inserted. Here presented project gives continuation to our just finished Master's degree research that investigated the formation of the same mobility, by focusing now the more contemporary modernization process of the Vale do Jequitinhonha. Therefore, we shall investigate the concrete forms of realization of the labor force commodity and the reproduction of workmen from Araçuaí and Minas Novas and their families, observing the trajectories of several boias-frias (migrant temporary workers), created by the labor force mobilization process at Vale do Jequitinhonha, but also regarding to the trajectories of workers that remain on the "region", locally making possible, direct or indirectly, the reproduction of the territorialized capital.
