Abstract The cardiopulmonary test is recognized as one of the best ways to evaluate the functional capacity of a person. The lactate threshold has been widely recommended by publications and coaches as the most effective method to predict the intensity of training and racing. There are few studies comparing runners with different aerobic capacities between the methods of lactate and ergoespirometry. The objective of this study is to compare the aerobic thresholds during the test and the functional capacity in the recovery period established by the Protocols of blood lactate and blood gases in running athletes with regular and irregular training. A prospective study will be conducted with 25 runners, of male sex, between 18 and 50, using the protocol on a treadmill with an inclination of 1%, measuring VO2 max, the point of anaerobic decompensation and the relationship between gases (TruMax 2400 Metaholic Measurement System; Consentius Technologies , Sandy, UT); A blood sample from the fingertip will be collected every 4 minutes of each phase and immediately analyzed by an automated blood lactate system, with the following methods of measurement: LTDelta1, absolute value of 4 mmol (LT4) , visual analysis of the curve and log-log. Statistical analysis will include the verification of the normal distribution of the sample from the theorem of central tendency, analysis by ANOVA and post hoc correction by Bonferroni and by correlation analysis and linear regression. | |
