Abstract

The research has the purpose to analyze the "Cartas de Envio" 1911 (jul to dec) to 1912, which belong to the Distribution of Seedlings and Seeds Service of the Agronomic Institute of the State, and to specify the cities that required this production, aiming to survey the vegetal repertoire that was used in the public space afforestation in the beginning of the 20th century in the state of São Paulo, especially in the cities of the West Paulista. To this matter, the project will analyze the species and their quantities that were distributed, and also the period that the seedlings were sent to the claimers, organizations and private firms; it will locate the cities related in the state map, relating it with the railway development emerging. This will allow the peculiarity of the formation of the variety of the landscape repertoire adopted in different cities to be noticed and will give the possibility to create new reflections about the process of the formation of the urban landscape. This research is a continuation of other previous one, but with the aim of analyzing the "Cartas de Envio" that attended private and not public organizations, as has been the focus of the previous research.
