Abstract

István Mészáros, in his book The Power of Ideology (2004), is devoted to analyzing the phenomenon of ideology in light of the most important historical events of the twentieth century. Based on the current debate about the relevance of ideology to interpret the social relations in modern capitalist society, we intend to go deeper into a possible interpretation of this phenomenon, which confirms its existence, and therefore the relevance of the concept, and analyzes its connection with the production and reproduction of society. Thus, this project intend to examine the Mészáros' conception of ideology and its practical dimension, which in our hypothesis, the author atribute to it.
