Abstract The conservation state of the Ramos de Azevedo monument, which consists of bronze and granite, will take place through non-destructive methods, comparing it with data obtained previously for deeper research. For that it will be used an ultrasound equipment to check the rock conservation state, a spectrophotometer for color measuring, test pipe for water absorption and esclerometer to determine the strength of the rock surface. The assessment of conservation state in stone monuments, besides the inherent importance of preservation, enables multidisciplinary action Geoscientist towards preservation of cultural heritage.
