Abstract

The proposal of this project is to discuss the ways the colonial government dealt with the treats caused by the "mocambos" of Palmares. The main goal is to understand how the actions, decisions ans discussions caused by the attempts to destroy Palmares were related to the ways that the portuguese Crown ruled the America. And so, it will study the militar incursions against the "palmarinos" according to the current historiography about colonial administration, using them as a way to analise the relation between the administrative and the militar sphere (central or local).
