Abstract

The main objective of the Henrique Cominato Theodoro project is to develop a comparative study between PMT and APD detectors for impurities impurities in the tokamak TCABR. The main motivation for this work is the large price difference that exists between the detectors (about a factor seven). As in the Laboratory experiments has been used only PMT, if we can prove that the APD detectors can be used for some kids of measures, this will bring a good economy in the future projects. The feasibility of this project will involve the use of a monochromator that is available in LFP. Additional equipments such as detectors, fiber optics already exist in the laboratory. This project also aims to train students to handle all the necessary tools to develop an experimental work in optics in the LFP. (AU)
