Abstract

The bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is widespread in the economic and social scenario in Brazil, as well as being a staple of the Brazilian population, helps small and medium-income farmers. The climatic instability affects the bean in almost all producing regions of Brazil, causing large swings in domestic production and making use of irrigation very timely. The project aims to determine which of the criteria for irrigation scheduling, based on one strain or one based on depletion results in increased productivity of bean in clay soil. The experimental design is a randomized block with 10 treatments and four replications. The 10 treatments represent two management criteria, depletion of soil water tension and irrigation, each with five levels of management. For depletion, the levels will be evaluated: 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55% of the available water range. For irrigation tension levels to be evaluated are: 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 kPa. The culture will be conducted in plastic pots of 8 liters, with a population density of three plants per pot, watered by drip. The performance criteria for irrigation management will be evaluated in terms of analysis of the components of production, considering the variables: average number of pods per plant, average size of the pods, average number of grains per pod and productivity.
