Abstract

The development of this project has to objective to selection rootstocks resistant to Fusarium solani and the effects of each rootstock on the muskmelon yield. For both, the project will be divided in two tests. In the test I will be held the selection of rootstocks resistant to F. solani. Will be tested 31 genotypes of cucurbits for resistance to the pathogen through cultivation of plants in artificially infested substrate. The seedlings will be evaluated using a rating scale based on the evolution of symptoms wilting and collapse of plants. The second experiment will be conducted to evaluate the effects of rootstocks that stand out as resistant in the test I, on muskmelon yield in two cropping seasons. The rootstocks will be grafted melon 'Louis' and 'Fantasy' and the type of grafting is cleft-filled. Will be evaluated the following characteristics: percentage of fixation at the time of transplanting, plant height, diameter of the bud region, total production (kg m-2), fruit mass (kg), transverse and longitudinal diameter of fruit (mm) ; index of fruit shape, diameter transverse and longitudinal locule (mm), shape index locule, wall thickness (mm), flesh color, roughness of the rind, soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (TA) , maturation index (SS / TA), firmness and vitamin C. After conducting the second experiment in two seasons, will be held joint analysis by ANOVA and Tukey test (5%).
