Abstract

This research aims to describe ethnographically the action and the perspective of the Salesians agents of the Assisted Freedom Program (LA) as a socio-educational measure for teenagers in Itaquera (São Paulo-SP). It is expected to demonstrate how relations between the Salesians and other government, political, legal and family agencies are established through this program. The native concept of family comes up when the central discourses of prevention, education and rehabilitation are triggered. The research aims to present how this concept is touted on the everyday of the LA from the point of view of their staff and volunteers.
