Abstract

This paper studies the effects of the composition of the top management team (governance) of micro and small enterprises on Brazilian about the proactivity in internationalization that they adopt. The research is based on several international studies which explored this subjects and developed validated scales that will be applied to Brazil. As the context of the study, it focus on companies that have received little investigation before in this topic, but with vital consequences for the economy and direct jobs in Brazil: the micro and small businesses. The method chosen is a survey and case studies of micro and small companies. Data collection will have the support of various organizations and associations that work with micro and small enterprises. The study results will be able to help developing the theory of governance in micro and small enterprises and the theory of internationalization of this segment, expanding them to new limits, and having a strong social aspect, given that it could help many companies. Statistical techniques and case studies will be used, which are appropriate for the proposed hypotheses.
