Abstract Brazilian educational sector reforms do not always reach satisfactory results within the classroom. The discipline of Geography in the school context, because of the way it is worked into the classroom is not always as primordial character analysis of its object of study, the geographic space. From the year 2008 the Department of Education of São Paulo, through the Coordinator of Education and Pedagogical Standards (CENP), initiated the"Project São Paulo makes school". One of the initiatives of the project was the renovation process of the curriculum and programs of the official network of primary schools that resulted in the systematization of a new curriculum for all subjects. To implement the curriculum was produced educational materials containing theoretical and methodological guide for teachers and students. This material is composed of the book of the teacher and the student's book and, in theory, distributed every two months in schools. The problems involved in the present work includes the analysis of the implementation and concept of Geographic Science in the Geography Curriculum in high school, the school has achieved the better percentage in Idesp 2009, in the city of Cândido Mota, inside the State. The methodology used is qualitative research using techniques such as data collection interviews, observations and documentary analysis. | |
