Abstract

This research project aims to determine if the peculiarities of the National Agencies for Accreditation (ANA) of Argentina and Brazil interfere with the process of accreditation of the Accreditation System for University Courses of Mercosur (ARCU-South System) in the domestic sphere. It starts with the contextualization of the creation of the ARCU-South System, its description, so to verify subsequently, the compatibility of the institutional nature of the National Comission of Evaluaiion and University Accreditation (CONEAU) and the National Commission for Higher Education Assessment (CONAES) to perform the role of ANA. Finally , we intend to compare the performance of internal procedures of the ARCU-South System in Argentina and in Brazil. To this end, we intend to use the method of hypothetical-deductive approach, the method of comparative procedure and techniques of indirect documentation (bibliographic and documentary research) and direct (a survey and interview with individuals involved in the accreditation process of Mercosur).
