Abstract

Will be studied five projects of the last two decades the architect Gustavo Penna, under the aspects of creativity and cognition and its relation to the sculptures of Amilcar de Castro in the seventeen's and eighteen`s. The trajectories of Gustavo Penna and Amilcar de Castro show points of convergence arising from the culture of Minas Gerais, marked by poetry and simplicity. Gustavo Penna makes clear what your biggest influences are, but these have not been studied deeply. Due to these facts, it is necessary to a study directed to this architecture that seeks to create an identity of our people in order to understand its contribution to contemporary architectural production in Brazil, considering that it is little known in other states.
