Abstract

This project focuses on a stability study, using model equations, so that future extensionscan be made, as well as testes can be applied directly to the coupled Navier-Stokesequation of a viscoelastic model. Here, however, we restrict ourselves to a highly complicatedsituation present in this type of problem that is tied to viscoelastic fluid, synthesizedas a rule, by the number of Weissemberg (We). Thus, the research aims to a stabilitystudy, involving LCR technique and the influences of boundary conditions in an transportequation model. This will allow to outline the impact of the EVSS formulation in terms ofstability in the numerical solution of the momentum equation in the Navier-Stokes whenthe LCR formulation is used or not.
