Abstract

This project aims to examine how the increasing circulation of scientific information in open access channels impacts certain groups of the public, and small, and medium enterprises beyond the confines of the academic community. In so doing, it will be necessary to explore how members of the public and participants from SMEs seek and use - if they do so - scientific information resulting from research, and published in open access. It is hoped that the results may contribute toward institutional policymaking regarding the dissemination and mediation of scientific information to the wider community.(AU)
