Abstract

This project proposes to undertake a comparative study of the relations between history teaching and the historical consciousness in the teaching history of National Security Dictatorships between young people of basic education in public schools of São Paulo and Buenos Aires. The intention is to investigate how young people in each city relate to a story that is not only national, but also shared with Latin American countries and thus help realize certain common traits that São Paulo and Buenos Aires share with other Latin-Americans' cities. Both cities have had similar experiences at the same time - the national security dictatorships, terrorism state and the practice of disappearance - but relate differently with this history, with different practices to remember, repair or forget that past. So, a comparative study contributes to understand the intrinsic relationship between the history teaching and historical consciousness.
