Abstract

The project proposes an analysis of compositional procedures, mainly in what refers to manipulation of heights, of two of movements the Requiem (1963-1965) of György Ligeti. The Kyrie is a notorious example of chromatic saturation, important compositional procedure of his repertoire of early '60s. In the Lacrimosa, the composer will what he called "interval signals" that will be key to understanding his works from the 70s.
