Abstract

This project proposes an investigation into the symbolic meanings and values that are assigned by the inhabitant to urban vegetation, through the case study in urban parks of Santo André city. It will also be considered if the municipal politics of urban vegetation incorporates the subjective dimension in the management and planning. The study seeks to improve the understanding of the issue of vegetation in the city to contribute to environmental management and urban planning.
