Degree of conversion of bulk fill composites at different depths

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the degree of monomer conversion of different composites indicated to be inserted in increments of large volumes/thicknesses (bulk-fill). The following 'bulk-fill' composites will be tested': SDRTM, SonicFillTM System, Venus Bulk Fillè and Tetric Evo Ceramè Bulk Fill. Additionally will be tested conventional composites (Tetric EvoCeramè and Venusè) are indicated for use in association with 'bulk-fill' composites, besides Ceram-XTM composite, also suitable for conventional composite restorations in anterior and posterior teeth. To analyze the degree of conversion will be made cylindrical specimens with the above materials (n = 10), were divided into the depths of polymerization of 1, 2, 3, and 4 mm. These specimens will be triggered, pressed with potassium bromide, and analyzed under Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The results will be analyzed using statistical tests most appropriate to the type of data distribution. (AU)
