Abstract

This present project aims the study of the signals of a new physics beyond the standard model (SM) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). More specifically, it intends to explore the potential of the LHC in the discovery of new particles and their interactions within several extensions of the SM in the electroweak sector or within alternative models, given emphasis to search for new heavy vector resonances, generically known as W' and Z'. Toward this end, several production mechanism and decaying channels will be explored at the LHC, as for instance the semileptonic decay channel in the vector boson fusion processes. (AU)
