Abstract

Hypertensive disorders determine repeated hospitalizations, longer hospital stays for blood pressure control and its complications, increased rates of hospitalization in intensive care unit for both the mother and the newborn, with special care and demand for professionals, which increases hospital costs. The present study aims to identify and analyze the costs of care of newborns of hypertensive mothers treated at the Hospital of the Botucatu Medical School - UNESP. There will be an exploratory study, quantitative and retrospective study, the maternity unit, the Nursery and intensive care unit of neonatology of the Hospital of the Medical School of Botucatu - UNESP, in the period January to December 2011.
