Abstract

The research is based on concerns of contemporary everyday life, considered in the context of spatial practices of certain situations present in the Sao Paulo metropolis. This concept of everyday life is studied by the dialectic between alienation and appropriation, between exchange value and use-value, as elaborated in the works of Henri Lefebvre and Michel de Certeau, considering like empirical field the specialization forms of the current disputes present in the Sao Paulo's downtown - where the State and private enterprise intends to undertake a series of urban renewal projects -, with the main focus currently ongoing conflicts in the region of Luz.(AU)
