Abstract

Relations between Cape Verde and Brazil are becoming increasingly intense. Ranging from economic relations to cultural exchange, there is a constant and growing dialogue. Our project aims to comparatively investigate the poetic works of two Camões Prize winners - the Cape-Verdean Arménio Vieira and João Cabral de Melo Neto from Brazil - focusing on how relations and exchanges are performed in the literary setting, giving special attention to the aspects that permeate the authors' physical space of production and their poetic conceptions. As a basis for such comparisons, concepts of dialogism, interdiscursivity, and intertextuality will be used, following the propositions made by Mikhail Bakhtin and Julia Kristeva.(AU)
