Abstract

One of the major diseases that attack citrus rootstocks such as Rangpur lime, is the root rot caused by Phytophthora nicotianae. Thus, this study aims to evaluate horticultural and molecular characteristics and resistance to Phytophthora nicotianae on 21 genotypes Rangpur lime from the Active Germplasm Bank Citrus of the Centro de Citricultura Sylvio Moreira, of the Instituto Agronômcico (IAC) in Cordeirópolis city, São Paulo State, Brazil. Fruits of these materials will be collected in the field for measurements of mass, size (height and diameter) and later quantification of the seeds (total, viable and aborted), which will also be sown for observation of the time to start germination. Addition will make evaluation polyembryony and seed mass. After germination in the greenhouse, seedlings of different genotypes are inoculated with Phytophthora nicotianae and subsequently evaluated for resistance to this pathogen. The molecular characterization of different genotypes will be performed using molecular markers TRAPS (Target region amplification polymorphism) to determine the level of genetic diversity among them and group them into dendrograms.(AU)
