Abstract

The proposed project has the purpose of manufacturing microchips for use as a pre-concentrator of the species of lead and/or phosphorus. The main advantages of microsystems for chemical analysis are its high analytical performance and the decrease in the amounts of reagent and sample. Another advantage in the microfabrication process is its low cost compared with the micro-analysis equipment. However, the implementation of a laboratory for the production of these microsystems is very expensive. The high cost and/or a very large demand time of conventional or alternative methods, along with the problem of lead and phosphorus to the environment, led to the motivation of this project. Among the processes for the manufacture of microchips, the greatest contribution of this project is innovation and improvement in the sealing process. The sealing of microchip with modified TEOS serving both as a sealing agent and surface retention of the analyses, will result in savings of time and financial resources for the construction of these microchips. This project is a continuation of the work PhD thesis advisor Heron Dominguez Torres da Silva, which pioneered the construction of microchips for preconcentration using TEOS modified as a sealing agent. It is expected at the end of the survey to obtain data for evidence of the efficiency of this new method.(AU)
