Abstract

The knowledge about the technology of forest tree seeds becomes of great importance for the conservation of various ecosystems, since the information obtained so far is mostly inadequate or fragmented, given the great diversity of arboreal species in Brazil. In view of this consideration, the proposed study aims to evaluate the germination behavior of eight species of Rainforest. The study will be conducted at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), Experimental Campus Registro-SP. Seeds will be used, not dormant, native forest species, previously benefited in IPEF (Institute of Forestry Research and Studies), namely: Angico branco (Anadenanthera colubrina); Aroeira pimenteira (Schinus terebinthifolia); Assa peixe (Vernonia discolor); Capixingui (Croton floribundus); Jacatirão (Miconia cinerascens); Sapuvá (Machaerium stipitatum); Tarumã grande (Cytharexyllum solanaceum) e Pau cigarra (Senna multijuga). Will be made to determine the characteristics fitométricas seeds such as seed mass, thousand seed weight, and morphological characterization. Also studied will be the germination characteristics of species: water content, germination (in constant temperatures of 20 and 25 ° C and 20-30 ° C with a photoperiod of 12 hours); abnormal seedlings (%) germinated seeds (%); mean germination time (MGT), germination rate(VG), germination speed index (GSI), seedling length, seedling dry weight throughout the germination process will be carried out the morphological characterization of the seedlings. The experimental design is completely randomized. The treatment means are compared by the Tukey test at 5% probability.(AU)
