Abstract

This project aims to understand the experience of women with postpartum depression in family context and its treatment dynamics. It is a qualitative research study, which methodology is interpretive description. The study participants are women who experienced postpartum depression and their families. Data collection is already underway since May 2011, and has been performed through semi-structured interviews, observation and records on a field journal. Inductive data analysis will be adopted for production of themes and implications for nursing practice. NVivo® software will be used to manage the analysis. The data analysis step is scheduled to be developed during the internship abroad. (AU)
