Abstract

During this post-genomic era we live in, many experimental methodologies were developed and refined, allowing new approaches to be applied both in original data as in existing ones. Along evolution and specialization of such techniques, arises the need of dealing with new types of data which now have huge volume of information. This requires new approaches to: proces, analysis and visualize such information, to focus on understanding and interpretation of all results obtained through this techniques. Among all the existing experimental methodology, SNP-array stands in the study of Variomics, which means the study of global human genetic variability, where this project proposes the modularization and implementation of methodologies for the Consolidated Software Gaggle-Genome Browser (GGB) enabling it to deal with huge volumes of data generated experimentally, in a transparent and automated way for the end user: the researcher. This project is also important for the success and usability of the Regular PhD Project in progress linked to this request, once all the proposed implementations will empower the advanced use of this new developed module, guaranteeing subsequent implementations (Regular PhD) to be facilitated and integrated into this powerful tool, thus affirming the importance and grandeur that will provide this opportunity of interaction.
