Abstract The reduction of the operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) to less than 800°C allows the use of metallic interconnects in planar SOFC systems. Metallic interconnectors exhibit many benefits, including increased thermal and electrical conductivity, good mechanical strength and low manufacturing cost. This proposal focuses on the synthesis and characterization of thin films based on La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSM) deposited on metallic substrates based on commercial ferritic steels SS 444-17%Cr e SS 446-23%Cr (SS- Stainless Steel) used as interconnectors in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC). The development of this work consists in the choice of the most suitable parameters for nanostructured LSM film deposition by Electrostatic Spray Deposition (ESD) technique; morphological and microstructural evaluation of the prepared materials. An evaluation of the Cr-diffusion reaction on the interface between the Fe-Cr alloy and the LSM coating will be investigated. The formation of (Cr,Mn)3O4 and Cr2O3 on the substrate surface will be analyzed by techniques like SEM, EDS and XRD. Electrochemical measurements using 2 and 4 probes and impedance spectroscopy will be used to characterize the porosity, the reactivity and the electric properties of the thin films. | |
