Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand the hot mix asphalt aging behavior made up of two different modes: at the asphalt plant and at the laboratory (laboratory aging protocol). By means of the research results it is expected to (a) observe if short term aging simulation is important and efficient to the laboratory production of HMA, (b) detect effects of plant production on HMA characteristics and properties, (c) evaluate if there are particular HMA behavior (in the ones that are made up to different modes) in response to time and environmental actions and (d) realize HMA stiffness behavior overtime period.(AU)
