Abstract

In his doctorate thesis Discours,Figure, Lyotard develops a critique of the field of discours, especially of the french philosophy tendency of the 1950 and 1960s, through the structuralism thought, of transforming language in metaphysical centre and necessary assumption to the activity of knowledge, not only in philosophy, but also in social sciences. The aim is to investigate Lyotard's critique of french structuralism between the 1950 and 1960s, especially the way which this thought was read by lacanian psychoanalysis in its conceptualization of the inconscious. This critique lays its roots on the concept of figural, proposed by Lyotard as a dimension of resistance against the determination and transgression of the discoursive order. (AU)
