Abstract

The present work refers to the taxonomic study the genus Bauhinia L., Cassia L., Chamaecrista Moench e Senna Mill. (Leguminosae) from Caparaó National Park, Espírito Santo/Minas Gerais, Brazil. Leguminosae has cosmopolitan distribution and comprises about 727 genera and 19327 species. The study will be based on species survey through collect in the area of study and analysis of herbarium specimens deposited in the main Brazilian herbaria with collections representative of that area. The completed work will include descriptions of species and infra specific taxa, illustrations, identification key and comments are also presented about each taxa. According to the preliminary survey, until present day 12 species were found (10 taxa) occurring in the park: Bauhinia sp 1.; Bauhinia sp 2.; Cassia ferruginea (Schrad.) Schrad. ex DC.; Chamaecrista nictitans (L.) Moench; Senna angulata var. miscadena (Vogel) H.S.Irwin & Barneby; S. macranthera (DC. ex Collad.) H.S.Irwin & Barneby var. macranthera; S. multijuga subsp. lindleyana (Gardner) H.S.Irwin & Barneby; S. neglecta (Vogel) H.S.Irwin & Barneby var. neglecta; S. neglecta var. furnicola H.S.Irwin & Barneby; S. organensis (Glaz. ex Harms) H.S.Irwin & Barneby var. organensis; S. peneumatica H.S.Irwin & Barneby e S. tenuifolia (Vogel) H.S.Irwin & Barneby.
