Abstract

Growing of ornamental grasses in Brazil, have gained increasing prominence. Ensure adequate maintenance techniques lawns of excellent quality. This research project aims to evaluate the influence of nitrogen fertilization and the potential of herbicides and growth regulators formed on a lawn with Zoysia japonica Steud. (emerald grass) on a Ultisol in Ilha Solteira - SP (Northwest from São Paulo), to maintain the lawn with good visual quality and nutrition and reduce the frequency of cuts. A randomized block design with 16 treatments and four replications, with 10 m2 per plot will be used. Treatments will consist of four herbicides (growth regulators): glyphosate, imazaquin, imazethapyr and metsulfuron-methyl and four nitrogen levels: 0, 5, 10 and 20 g m-2 parceled during the year, all conducted in full sun. Will be held the following assessments: chemical analysis of soil, height of zoysia grass, chlorophyll meter readings in leaves, dry leaves, foliar phytotoxicity and shoot the lawn.
