Abstract

New energy alternatives have been the subject of speeches on the conservation of natural resources. Such statements are based primarily on reducing emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants, caused mostly by the use of fossil fuels. In view of the applicability of biomass as energy recovery, and aimed at storage and transportation of these raw materials, this work aims to study the different flow characteristics of vegetable biomass (Hedgehog sapucaia and eucalyptus) by compressibility indices, Hausner ratio, and Carr, and angle of repose (static and dynamic). Furthermore, it will perform mapping with several existing biomass and studied at the Laboratory of Particle Technology and Multiphase Processes and new indicators for the definition of flowability will be proposed.(AU)
