Abstract Hospitalization is a delicate and critical situation in any human being's life, especially when it comes to a child. Then, the importance of care offered by the team of caregivers in order to ease psychic suffering is highlighted, which must perform not only technical but emotional work, which produces and promotes health. Therefore, this research project aims to investigate nurses' conceptions of the pediatric ward of Hospital Regional de Assis (HRA) on humanization and their influence on daily work, based on the idea that those people have a more continuous relationship with patients of that sector. Data collection will be made through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with nurses as well as a professional responsible for the implementation of the NHP into the institution, and documentary analysis. On the interviews - taped and, afterward, transcribed -, information about nurses' conceptions of the disease, hospitalization, childhood suffering, care, humanization, and its role in hospitalization. Furthermore, it aims to analyze the impact and also the importance of the NHP's implementation in the institution for professional training, their conceptions, and their public service. To complement and confirm information obtained with the prior technique it will be held documentary analysis. Data will be analyzed according to content analysis and will consider the regularities and peculiarities of those. Discussion and interpretation of data will be performed according to psychoanalytic theory.(AU) | |
