Abstract

In this project we intend to study Floquet topological insulators, i.e., topological states of matter induced in systems initially in the trivial phase by a time-dependent periodic Hamiltonian. We will consider imperfections in various aspects of the system, arising either from decoherence from the environment, from disorder within the sample or from incoherence of the radiation. (AU)
