Abstract

This Master's project entitled "BPI Method for children: considerations about a body practice with children 7-8 years" is the result of research associated with the creation and training of the Dancer-Researcher-Performer (DRP) Method. Through classroom exercises, the specific use of DRP Method, and the interaction and influence of scenes of a performance developed by both Advisor and Master's student, we will attempt to improve on the way the DRP method is applied to a subject seldomly explored in the literature of the method: the children. Further study of the adaptations necessary in applying this method without spoiling the formation of the dancer in DRP Method is imperative. To facilitate this study we require 40 hours of sessions with 10 children ages 7-8 years old, and an adequate space for dance activities in order to apply the tools of the DRP Method: Dance Technique, Technique of the Senses and directed workshops. The analysis will be based on observation of the subject's corporal responses during the proposed research period.
