Abstract

Incorrect usage agricultural land and also of the great buildings in rural areas, such as power stations, are causing changes to it, making them less productive, thus increasing the degraded areas. The study of organic carbon and its physical and chemical stability is fundamental to understanding the process of land reclamation. Given this problem, it started a research project to evaluate the effects of using sewage sludge, Brachiaria and leguminous, the subsoil recovery of a sandy clay loam soil texture, vegetated with a tree savannah. The green manure used is the Canavalia ensiformis and the Brachiaria decumbens. The sewage sludge dose was 60 t/ha and tree species is the Astronium fraxinifolium Schott. The research was initiated in February 2004. Two control areas are also used: the natural vegetation of savannah: control-0; area without treatment for recovery: control-1. The experimental design is a randomized block with five treatments and five replications. The treatments are: an area with only tree species A. fraxinifolium with spontaneous vegetation between rows, C. ensiformes+A. fraxinifolium, Brachiaria+sewage sludge (60 t/ha)+A. fraxinifolium, exposed soil - without treatment for recovery; savannah natural vegetation. Related attributes Will be assessed: aggregates stability and distribution in water, weighted mean diameter of the aggregates; organic matter content; soil carbon stock; content of iron oxide and aluminum, particle size distribution, morphology of the nano-structure and soil particles. The results will be analyzed using analysis of variance and average comparison test, will also be performed contrasts between treatments. (AU)
