Abstract

When determining the set of products to be developed, maintained, and discontinued, the management of the product portfolio fulfills an important role in the process of product development and implementation of business strategy. This importance is accentuated in high-tech companies to be included in forecasting activities and development of technologies, often performed by the R&D department over their work portfolio management products. The proposed research aims to identify and analyze key management practices adopted by product portfolios in high-tech companies, located in São Paulo. Will be the prioritized study of medium and large, since differently from the smaller companies, these usually have better conditions and structure to develop products and make technological innovation activities of products. It will be used for qualitative operation through two case studies. The efforts and results of the proposed undergraduate research project intended to provide support to aid FAPESP research already underway by the institution of the applicant. (AU)
