Abstract

The research aims, using the methodology tools provided by the main research, tabulate and map the use and land cover existing, possible uses and morphologies, provided according to urban legislation, and the population distribution at the selected area of RMC (Campinas Metropolitan Area) inserted in Piçarrão river basin, to compose a three-dimensional basis. This research will study the spatial units used in planning and management, such as neighborhoods, Planning Areas and Macrozones and, mostly, census districts, based on IBGE'S data. The research will understand and compare the source and delimitation of these units and their objectives and still understand the relationship between these units's morphology and the population distribution in the study area.
