Abstract

e project suggests the preparation of sponges based on poly(urethane) and poly(vinyl chloride) loaded with cucurbit[6]uril and hemicucurbit[6]uril cavitands. These sponges should exhibit a strong affinity towards petroleum hydrocarbons and the sponges will be used to remove petroleum from fresh water and seawater. (AU)
