Abstract The present research project is aimed to study magnetically confined plasmas in modern tokamaks. This includes the description of the MHD equilibrium in diverted, small aspect-ratio equilibria. The solution of the Grad-Shafranov equation will provide the internal and edge magnetic field of the plasma in various configurations. From those equilibria the development of symplectic maps will provide the behavior of the magnetic lines, even in the case were small perturbations destroy the equilibrium axisymmetry and the system is no longer integrable. The magnetic transport and magnetic footprints in the divertor plates bring relevant information about charge deposition from the Scrape-off layer. (AU) | |
