Abstract

This research project is part of a huge one, which will be developed in partnership between the research group Nursing, Women and Health, from Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto/USP and the Escola Paulista de Enfermagem/UNIFESP. The objective is to analyze the repercussions of intimate partner violence during pregnancy on the mental health of women. This is a descriptive, epidemiological and cross-sectional study, which will be held at the Centro de Referência em Saúde da Mulher - CRSM/MATER, in Ribeirão Preto / SP. The sample will consist of 242 pregnant women in prenatal care in this service. Data collection will occur in the first and second days of prenatal consultations, through instruments tested and validated to Portuguese. The data will be stored in Excel Mac 2011 and analyzed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences, version 19.0. We will use univariate and bivariate analysis of data, frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and variability, and the chi-square and t-student"s tests. The standards for research involving humans will be followed.
