Abstract

Refers to architecture and to the daily life of rural properties open at the beginning of the 20th century, in the Minas Gerais'Southeast (region of the current municipality of Manhuaçu), whose occupation occurred during the expansion of the pioneer fronts for new coffee's plantations areas. Performs research, by sampling, in remaining old proprieties and carrying out extensive research in primary sources, to compose a picture of this rural architectural production, and draw comparisons with the rural architecture of other Minas Gerais' areas, checking possible architectural stays, from the gold mining areas (18th century) mainly of the region of Ouro Preto and Mariana.(AU)
