Abstract

The organization of audiovisual information available in digital collections, aimed at recovery and use, is one of the challenges of contemporary librarianship. Thus, it was proposed as objectives to identify and analyze the zone of confluence between theoretical and methodological documentary languages and ontologies in dealing with issues of representation and retrieval involving audiovisual information. To do so, it will be adopted the methodology of content analysis of articles that address the topic in selected studies in Brazilians electronic journals of information science, seeking to identify how theories and methodologies of documentary language has been used to solve problems organization, representation and retrieval of audiovisual information. Thus, it is expected that search results can contribute to the understanding of the field of use of indexing languages, for identifying alternatives for efficient organization of audiovisual resources and for the documentary linguistic, with regard to the construction and use of instruments of representation and retrieval of information that can communicate in a more frank with new approaches to organizing knowledge such as ontologies.
