Abstract

The probable sleep deprivation, due to the care provided and the environmental problems at the neonatal unit and inside the incubator, may result in deleterious effects on the newborn's (NB) development. The aim of the study is to analyze indices of how many times the neonates wake up when placed at different positions on the bed. Exploratory and observational study with NB admitted in Neonatal Intermediate Care Unit from a university hospital in São Paulo, after the approval of Committee of Ethics in Research. For the statistical analysis will be applied the paired t-test and analysis of variance (ANOVA) (significance level of 5%).(AU)
