Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of gestational weight gain in women in Campinas and relates it with perinatal outcomes. Subjects and methods: a population study, cross-sectional, 1063 women will be selected in the immediate puerperium in three hospitals in the city of Campinas-SP. Participants will answer a questionnaire on sociodemographic data, obstetric history, pregnancy, labor, delivery and, the newborn variables will be collected from hospital records. Analyze Data: A descriptive statistical analysis had used media and standard deviations, frequencies, and percentages. The bivariate analysis will be performed to assess the association between gestational weight gain and maternal and perinatal outcomes through the Student t-test or Mann-Whitney test for continuous variables and X2 or Fisher Exact test for categorical variables. A level of significance of 5% will be assumed and the software will be used to analyze the SAS version 9.2.(AU)
