Abstract

Xylella fastidiosa is an important pathogen of plants of commercial interest such as citrus, grapes, plums, alfalfa, coffee, among other crops. Most of the studies on the diseases caused by this bacterium are meant for the plant-pathogen interaction at the expense of vector-pathogen interaction, although the vector is key to the progress of the disease. We aim with this study abroad, learn the methodology of artificial diet for the further implementation of sharpshooters in Brazil, since the implementation of this system will open doors for advancement in the knowledge of this relationship.
