Abstract

The aim of this research project is to study the facts of 1794 in Rio de Janeiro, involving the Sociedade Literária. In that year, colonial authorities closed the institution suspecting that its members were drawing a conspiracy. More specifically, it studies notions of historical time manifested by these authorities, the members of the academy, and the witnesses. (AU)
